The poolside cabana featured in these pictures is designed for all season entertaining. The main feature is a discretely mounted 60" Samsung LED TV with a full KEF surround system that matches the aesthetics. What you don't see is a powerfull subwoofer hidden in the ceiling.

Around the property you will find some custom mounted all weather outdoor speakers which can be controlled by a smartphone or the handheld remote.

We call this a "multi-use" theatre because it is designed to be used in a variety of ways. For casual use such as gaming, checking sports scores or watching the news there is a 90" LED TV. This setup is great for when you want to quickly watch something or you want to keep the lights on when viewing.

For serious use and a fully immersive experience, the lights fade down and a 13.5ft x 7.5ft projection screen lowers in front of the TV. With a motorized anamorphic lens the viewer has the choice to watch in either standard widescreen (16x9) or theatre ultra-wide (2.35:1) utilizing the maximum amount of viewing area.

This theatre features a DPI projector with a full anamorphic lens and discreetly hides a 7.2 surround system by Triad Acoustics behind acoustically transparent cloth. Automation wise there is LED lighting throughout, along with full HVAC control and paging system to call staff.

The focus on this project was to incorporate the latest in technology and energy efficient systems without stealing focus from the clean modern design.

This home is model of energy efficient systems. All lighting in and around the home is LED based, every massive floor to ceiling window has an automated roller shade and there is a powerful aquathermal system that provides heat in the form of radiant in floor heating, hot water and even heat for the hot tub. The use of LED lighting throughout the home provides a lovely comfortable atmosphere, especially where it was used as accent lighting in the coves of the ceiling and inside all of the bathroom mirrors.

All speakers and televisions blend seamlessly into the architecture with discreet flush mounts. One of the many highlights of this system is the hidden panel TV lift in the great room. Beautiful wordwork soars up from the fireplace to the 20ft curved ceiling and hidden behind it all is a 50" plasma TV which removes a section of the paneling to reveal itself at the push of a button and remain hidden when not in use. Another great feature are the custom built surround sound speakers for the media room. We sent some of the same clear pine used throughout the home to our friends at Leon Speakers to custom build speakers that match the home.

One unique challenge was that the property is deep into a cellular dead zone, and with everyone relying on cell phones instead of landlines these days this would not do. We installed a discreet system that took a very faint signal from far out on the boat dock and amplified it into the house. While we were at it, we also installed a powerful ruckus wifi network that blankets the property including the boat dock for visiting guests.

These features are apparent the minute someone pulls up to the property. Guests can buzz in using the video intercom which is displayed throughout the home on any of the in wall touchscreens or TV's. In addition to the intercom, there is a full security system, monitoring all doors and windows for safety as well as full colour HD cameras that can pan tilt and zoom to view the rest of the property.

Inside the home is an incredibly sophisticated and energy efficient heating and cooling system to keep things comfortable. Radiant in floor heating throughout the home is provided by geothermal and motorized shades raise and lower throughout the day based on sunrise and sunset.

There are well over 100 lighting zones, 95% of which feature energy efficient LED bulbs. In a home this size the electricity costs themselves will offset the cost of the bulbs in only a few years.

For entertainment there are 18 individually controlled zones of audio and 4 multifunctional rooms with large flatscreens, in addition to the incredible better than commercial grade home theater. The all digital theater features top of the line B&W 802 Diamond Series speakers, a Runco digital cinema projector, a raised seating platform that rumbles with bass effects, all contained in a fully acoustically treated and calibrated room wrapped in a stylish acoustically transparent fabric.

It features a top notch home theater as well as lighting and distributed audio throughout the home. Other highlights include hidden landscape speakers around the pool and a 32" TV that drops down from the ceiling on the covered patio next a gorgeous outdoor kitchen, great for watching sports while having a BBQ!

For comfort there is a system of motorized dampers/vents in every room so that temperature can be controlled separately for each room in the house.

To keep everything safe there is a full security system that includes an intercom to the gate and full colour HD cameras throughout the property.

When it comes time to watch a movie, head down to the 8 seat acoustically treated and calibrated theater wrapped in a stylish acoustically transparent fabric. Then watch the Runco digital cinema projector light up the screen and the B&W 802 Diamond Series speakers fill the room with immersive sound while the lights automatically dim.

Any spare bedroom or corner of an unfinished basement can house an amazing home theater.
